Move-Out & Turnover Cleaning in Houston After Storm Season
Houston's hurricane season runs June through November, and it reliably drives a wave of moves, lease turnovers, and home transitions across the metro. If you're moving out, moving in, or turning over a rental this season, this guide explains what a professional move-in/move-out cleaning covers — and, importantly, where the line is between cleaning and storm restoration.
Cleaning vs. storm restoration — know the difference
This is the most important point: if a home took on floodwater or water damage, that is a job for a licensed water-damage restoration company first — extraction, structural drying, and any mold remediation. We are a residential cleaning company; we don't perform flood remediation or water extraction. Once a property is dry and structurally sound, our move-out and deep cleaning gets it genuinely clean and turnover-ready.
What move-out cleaning covers
Our move-out service is landlord- and sale-ready, priced flat-rate by home size (it starts at $345, the same as a deep clean). A standard scope includes:
- Inside the oven, refrigerator, and other reachable appliances on request.
- Inside cabinets and drawers, and cabinet fronts.
- Bathrooms in detail — tubs, showers, grout, fixtures, and mirrors.
- Baseboards, door frames, window sills, vents, and light fixtures.
- All floors vacuumed and mopped, closets wiped down.
Why turnovers spike during Houston storm season
Beyond direct storm impacts, the season overlaps with summer lease cycles and relocations. Areas with a lot of corporate housing and apartments — like Westchase and the Energy Corridor — see steady turnover, and a clean handoff protects deposits and speeds re-leasing. Humidity also means vacant units that sit between tenants need attention before the next occupant moves in.
Planning your clean around a move date
- Schedule the clean for an empty home. Move-out cleans go best after furniture is out; move-in cleans are best before you unpack.
- Book early in peak season. June–November fills up; give us your move date and we'll schedule around it.
- Confirm landlord requirements. Tell us if your lease or property manager has a specific checklist — we coordinate on request.
